The Gwineas pub at The Llawnroc Hotel
Pop in for a pint after work, get together with your mates or take the family out for a pub meal... everyone is welcome at this very special pub.
At The Gwineas we’ve taken a much loved Cornish local and brought it bang up to date. The clean, smart, modern interior provides a comfortable and relaxed place for you to chill out and catch up with friends and acquaintances.
Pub at the Heart of the Community. The Gwineas is named after the rocks which jut out of the sea just offshore from the beach. And like that rocky outcrop, Gorran Haven's only pub looks set to become a cherished part of village life.
It has a special history as it's located on the site of an old inn where villagers have met for hundreds of years. This attractive, modern pub is rightly proud of its roots and promises to serve as a social hub for the community for generations to come.
A Special Place to Eat and Drink. Whatever your tipple we have something here for you at The Gwineas. We have Cornish ales on tap, premium lagers, fine wines and cocktails.
Plus we have fantastic food at affordable prices. We’re sure you’ll agree that The Gwineas makes a great place to stop for lunch, light bites or an evening meal.
If you follow sport you can watch the latest action on our large TV screens; and our child-friendly atmosphere means your children are always welcome.
Be sure to visit us soon.
Food & Drink
You'll be spoilt for choice at The Gwineas. Whether you have mid-morning tummy rumbles, a hunger for a quality bar meal or a desire for afternoon tea, we have the perfect fare to fill the gap.
We have snacks, homemade cakes and pastries available all day, which you can wash down with freshly brewed coffee or local golden ale. For lunchtimes and evening meals you can choose from daily specials freshly prepared by our chefs in the hotel. They cook mouth watering dishes using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients including fresh fish and seafood. How about a seafood platter of crab, lobster and oysters or a heart-warming bowl of St Austell Bay mussels?
In warmer months, you can enjoy sizzling barbeques on our sun terrace. Chargrilled mackerel with a hint of seasoning and a squeeze of lemon on a homemade bun is just one way that we celebrate what Cornwall has to offer.
Or join us for afternoon tea in the light and airy Orangery next to the pub. You can savour the taste of locally grown Tregothnan tea or tuck into a Cornish cream tea with freshly baked scones, local clotted cream and sweet strawberry jam.
Children are definitely welcome here!
Fancy taking your family out for a drink or bar meal? Not a problem. We extend our warm welcome to children and make them feel at home in our lovely village pub.
We have a special children’s menu offering a choice of delicious meals. As our food is all made fresh from scratch on site, you can rest assured that your children are eating nutritious, wholesome and yummy meals.
We provide children with paper and colouring crayons to keep them amused before meals. And in our garden we have a fun, safe play area for kids complete with purpose built wooden play equipment which will keep your children happy while you enjoy a drink. We like to think that we've thought of everything to make the little ones feel welcome. But if you or they can think of anything else, please let us know.
